It's important to remember that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. It is because of him that I have a second chance and for that, I am forever grateful. When we put our trust in people we run the risk of being hurt in some form or another. People may make empty promises that we count on only to be broken. People will fail us, but Jesus is always there to pick up the broken pieces and make something beautiful out of the scattered mess. That's what he did for me.
Love is the ultimate reason we are here. Somewhere along the road we miss it and get off course. We let our stubborn, worldly ways that we've come to know, pull us along through this life until it falls apart. But I thank God I didn't get stuck there. I thank God that even though these lessons have been long and harder than anything I have ever had to endure, I am a better person than I was before. I can say I like who I am. I am no longer hiding behind a mask. I have a confidence that could only come from Jesus, so, what you see is what you get.
Some may say it's a crutch. Some may think it means only a weak person would rely on the Lord so much. That couldn't be further from the truth. It isn't easy to stand and let the Lord take care of things and wait. You have to trust and stand in a way you have never done before; without complaint, without taking over and learn to trust and believe that what the Lord has planned for you is the very best.
That is still a challenge but I continue to keep love at the center of all I do. Love is everything. It connects us to a greater power and can cover a multitude of imperfections. By implementing the character traits found in the fruits of the Holy Spirit, it's a great start to transforming your life of change. Let love rule and guide you. You will never be the same.
